字显示，今年头2个月，全国消费增速突然放缓，餐饮业收入增速仅仅为8.4%，限额以上企业餐饮收入甚至下降了3.3%。
分析称，中央“八项规定”等政策的出台引发高档消费的狂降。这引起了商务部、国家发改委的关注。发改委专家陈新年指出：公款吃喝下来了，影响了整体消费！话里话外，大有欲恢复公款吃喝到原来的水平以拉动经济增长之意，引发众网友一致吐槽。
这股不正之风好不容易出现了被遏制住的苗头，“专家”们竟发出如此惊人之担忧，实在令人难以理解！表面上看，“专家”们是在担忧消费下降，而实际上却完全是出于部门利益考虑，很简单弱智地看待了公款吃喝问题，根本就没有丝毫大局意识。
就像网友评价中指出的：一个国家的经济发展如果需要公款吃喝去拉动，那还不如直接发福利给民众呢，能比公款吃喝更好地拉动经济，还要你发改委何用？
